Some Liverpool fans are raving about Georginio Wijnaldum as a ‘bargain’ and feel that he should be scoring at least ten goals more than he does.

The 29-year-old Dutchman has played 13 times in the Premier League this season and has found the back of the net once during this time.

A video compilation of the former Newcastle United man was released on Twitter. He showcased his goals and some of his major contributions to the Reds since he joined.

Some Liverpool fans are raving him and some also call him ‘world-class’.

Wijnaldum joined Liverpool from the then-relegated Newcastle in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £25million. He had signed a five-year contract when he had joined.

In all competitions this season, Wijnaldum has played 20 times. During this time, he has scored twice and has featured in every game in every competition bar the League Cup.

Wijnaldum was key to helping the side win the UEFA Champions League last season. He had grabbed a brace at Anfield against Barcelona, helping them complete a comeback to beat the Catalans 4-0 in the second-leg.

Since joining, the former PSV man has played 159 times in all competitions and has found the back of the net 15 times and has a tally of 16 assists too.

What do we think?

Considering how much Wijnaldum joined Liverpool for, he is already proving to be a massive bargain. As per Transfermarkt, his value is currently £45million and his value has risen very sharply from £19.80million since he arrived at Anfield.

Those numbers show exactly how well the Dutchman has performed since making the move. His game isn’t all about the goals. His workrate and tenacity in the middle of midfield is what really makes the Reds’ midfield tick.
