Some Liverpool fans are mesmerised by James Pearce’s tweet about the club hero Sadio Mane and his achievements at the Anfield-based side.

Pearce shared an article of his on Twitter and it concerned Sadio Mane and his rise to the very top of the footballing pyramid. The tweet says that no other player has been more important to the Reds than the former Southampton man this season.

Some Liverpool fans have reacted very positively to the article and apart from hailing Pearce about it, are gushing about Mane and his importance to the side.

One fan even stated that the Senegal international is in the same bracket as Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard, who both established themselves as stars at Anfield. The Uruguayan produced 82 goals and 47 assists in 133 games for the Reds and the now Rangers boss mustered up a stunning 186 goals and 115 assists in 710 appearances.


Mane, 27, was on the scoresheet for the Reds in their recent 2-1 win over Crystal Palace this past weekend. It was his eighth goal of the season and his tenth in all competitions as two came in the UEFA Champions League too.

Last season, Mane was pivotal in helping the Reds win the UEFA Champions League. He had featured 50 times in all competitions, finding the back of the net 26 times and racking up a tally of five assists as well. In the Champions League, Mane had a tally of four goals and three assists.

Ever since joining Liverpool from Southampton in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £34 million, Mane has appeared a total of 141 times in all competitions for the club. During this time, he has scored 71 times and has assisted 27 times.

He has completed the second-highest number of key-passes per game for the side- 1.9. He also has the third-best dribbles per game tally at 1.2. All these numbers show how important Mane is to the European Champions.
