Liverpool are amongst a host of clubs who are looking at Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz in a potential summer deal.

According to the German outlet SportBild (via Sport Witness), the Reds are seriously considering a move for the 20-year-old midfielder and look to have an advantage over other clubs; after Havertz said that Anfield’s atmosphere ‘captivates’ him in the report from Sport Bild.

It’s stated that Havertz is negotiating intensively with seven clubs and Liverpool are among them.

Apparently, the Reds, like the other parties, are in a position to fulfil Bayer Leverkusen’s desire to get €130m (£111m) for the German playmaker.

The Leverkusen man was in superb form for Leverkusen last season; hitting 20 goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga side, so it is no surprise that a lot of big European clubs are taking notice of the German youngster.

Havertz is yet to really get started this season; with just two goals and one assist to his name but is still highly valued by Jurgen Klopp’s scouting staff at Anfield. Despite his age, the attacking-midfielder has already made seven appearances for the German senior side.

Would Kai Havertz be a good signing for Liverpool?

TIF Tactics:

Jurgen Klopp has developed a number of young players at Anfield since taking over on Merseyside, including the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez, so a move to Liverpool would be a sensible decision.

With both Adam Lallana and James Milner’s deals up at the end of the season, Klopp will no doubt want to add more depth to his midfield, but with Havertz currently valued at £81 million by transfermarkt, he will not come cheap.

It seems as if Havertz would certainly favour a move to Anfield however and the 20-year-old looks ready to take the next step in his footballing career, despite his young age, so it would not be a surprise to see Klopp make a move for his German compatriot next summer.
