Liverpool fans are excited about the possibility of signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in January after it was revealed that the club could let Rhian Brewster go out on loan.

According to Football Insider, Jurgen Klopp is now willing to listen to temporary offers for the 19-year-old striker in January. Brewster has featured twice in the Carabao Cup for the Reds this season, but it seems as if the club now feel that a loan move is the best thing for Brewster’s personal development.

This has got Liverpool fans excited about a possible move for Werner, as if Brewster were to leave the club it could leave them quite short on attacking numbers. The 23-year-old has been electric under Julian Nagelsmann for RB Leipzig so far this season; with 11 goals and four assists in 11 Bundesliga games.

Reaction from Reds fans to the news of Brewster potentially leaving on loan and the possibility of a move for Werner can be seen in the tweets below.

These Reds fans clearly feel that if Brewster is allowed to leave on loan then a new striker will come in with many hoping that it can be Timo Werner.

What do we think?

Werner is currently valued at £58.5 million (as per Transfermarkt), so it would be an expensive sum for Klopp to pay for a striker who would presumably be back-up to Liverpool’s current front three.

However, if Brewster does leave then the Reds will have just Divock Origi as a back-up striker to the first-team, so they may look to Leipzig for a proven goal-scorer in Werner.
