Liverpool fans were shocked to find out that Jurgen Klopp would be interested in signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic if he hadn’t have already played for Manchester United, but it seems as if fans are still keen on the 38-year-old.

Ibrahimovic, who is valued at £3.15 million (Transfermarkt), announced he would leave MLS side LA Galaxy in December after two years with the club and will be available for clubs to sign on a free transfer. The legendary Swedish forward demonstrated his ability in the United States; hitting an extremely impressive 53 goals in 58 appearances.

Klopp is reportedly a fan of the veteran striker but confessed to Sportbladet (via LiverpoolEcho) that he wouldn’t try and sign him due to his connection with Manchester United. The former PSG man joined the Red Devils as a 34-year-old in 2016 and spent two years with the club before his move to the MLS.

One fan even claimed that Man United fans would lose their minds, which would be understandable after witnessing his heroics at Old Trafford, with a switch to the Manchester club’s rivals surely not going down well. Indeed, he has already proved himself in the Premier League; scoring 29 goals for them in his two years with the club.

It seems as if the majority of Reds fans would welcome Ibrahimovic to the club if Klopp were to change his mind about the 38-year-old.

What do we think?

Ibrahimovic’s goal-scoring record is frankly ridiculous; with 358 club career goals to his name and with him now available on a free transfer, perhaps bringing him in as a back-up to Liverpool’s squad wouldn’t be the worst idea.
