Leicester City are flying this season and according to John Percy of the Telegraph, Leicester have opened talks with James Maddison, as well as news that the club won’t sell any key players.

The club are already planning for the future after entering preliminary talks over a new deal with Maddison.

James Maddison, Caglar Soyuncu and Ben Chilwell are amongst those who have been discussed as potential transfer targets for some of the Foxes’ rivals. However, it appears Leicester City fans have nothing to worry about with performances and moral currently at a high.

It appears Percy has a track record of delivering the kind of news the clubs faithful want to hear, judging these fan reactions.

What do we think?

James Maddison, who is valued at £40.5 million (Transfermarkt), has been influential this season, having scored six goals and has provided two assists in all competitions, so getting him to sign a new deal could be huge. Of course, a huge plus from potentially signing a new deal at the club would be the fact that any interested clubs would surely be put off.

The likes of Manchester United, who Percy mentions specifically in his article, are currently looking up at the Foxes with envy. Although they are one of world football’s super clubs in terms of their commercial appeal, they are quite some way off of Brendan Rodgers’ side on the pitch.

The Leicester players will no doubt believe they have a better chance of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League with the East-Midlands club than they would with United.

Things are looking great at the King Power Stadium and the fact they are able to put up a fight against one of the true Premier League giants is a testament to how far they’ve come. Perhaps Harry Maguire regrets his move further north.
