Everton supporters are devastated over the proposed move for Mark Hughes to replace Marco Silva in the Goodison Park hot seat.

According to the Express, Hughes has been discussed at boardroom level in recent weeks as a possible replacement for their Portuguese 42-year-old (via Everton News Feed).

With many supporters in disbelief over the link, many shared their frustration and their feelings of devastation should the Welshman be appointed.

The 56-year-old manager was most recently at the helm of Southampton, where he was relieved of his duties in December of last year (per BBC).

Hughes was able to muster just 27 games on the south coast before being ditched due to a record which saw him claim only 0.96 points per match (as per Transfermarkt).

One fan even claimed that the Toffees would be better off with former boss Sam Allardyce, who was relieved of his duties at Goodison Park back in May of 2018 after just six months in charge.

What do we think?

While most over the other touted managers have, somewhat, divided opinion amongst Everton supporters – with Hughes the message is absolutely clear.

It is extremely safe to say, the Welshman is nowhere near a first choice for fans of the Merseyside club.
