Everton supporters do not want the club to appoint David Moyes as a replacement for Marco Silva.
With the situation at Goodison Park looking perilous for the Portuguese 42-year-old, a number of potential replacements have been touted (as per The Express).
The Toffees’ former gaffer, Moyes, has been listed as one, but despite boasting a relatively successful 11 years in Merseyside (via FourFourTwo), fans do not want to see a return from the Scotsman.

That will end in disaster. Never go back. It never works out in the end.

It’s like going back to an ex cause it’s easy and you’re lonely rather then moving on

Enough of this short term solutions. We need someone to come in and start building a team for next season now. Like Leicester did last year.

Move forwards not backwards,if he comes in show the total lack of ambition !!! We should go for poch and have the cash to do it make a statement not a mistake,

And 4 years to get out of relegation battles. Don’t forget his dreadful record against any of the big teams and failing to win anything despite being the longest serving manager beside Ferguson and Wenger. We aren’t fighting relegation right now so it’s not to keep us up.

The 56-year-old manager was at the helm for 516 games with the Toffees between 2002 and 2013 (per Transfermarkt), before leaving for Manchester United (via BBC).
However, lasted just 51 games before being sacked, then moving on to Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham, being sacked from each role (via The Guardian).
While considering his record since leaving Merseyside, many felt that the Scot on a short-term basis was not the answer to the Goodison Park club’s problems.
This is the issue that bothers me! We need to appoint someone permanently, not until the end of the season, that just doesn’t work! If the board believes Moyes is the man then give him job permanently!

Short term deals do no one any favours. Security is what is needed. Would prefer dyche on a long term deal. I have had it with trying to find the next bright young thing and foreign revolution. Try dyche, howie if not get moyes in and alow him to plan

No because it wouldn’t be a short term deal. It would be a case of he’s done well for 6 months, I wonder what Moyes could do with money to spend and before you know it he’ll be here for the next 5 years.

What do we think?
There’s nothing to suggest Moyes deserves to return to Goodison Park.
Like many argued, the club should be looking to set long-term plans in place with a view to breaking into the ‘big six’, which hiring a manager for the short term just will not achieve.
