Everton: Supporters miss Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park

|

Everton supporters have expressed that they miss Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku, at Goodison Park.

The 26-year-old, who is valued at £67.5 million (as per Transfermarkt), was chosen as a scorer for goal of the day on Thursday (via The Blue Room), with a video of his impressive goal, in a 2-0 victory over Leicester City in 2016 (per BBC), posted to Twitter.

With supporters taking a trip down memory lane due to the video, many expressed how they missed the Belgian striker at Goodison Park.

Lukaku bagged an impressive 87 goals and 29 assists in 166 appearances for the Toffees during his stay in Merseyside (via Transfermarkt).

The frontman’s time at Goodison Park came to an end in 2017, when Manchester United forked out an initial fee of £75 million to secure the Belgian’s services (as per BBC).

Since leaving the Toffees, the 26-year-old has not quite gone on to fulfil the potential that was expected of him, before moving to Italy, which many supporters remarked upon.

What do we think?

Lukaku’s record whilst with the Toffees was incredibly respectable, averaging over a goal every other game (per Transfermarkt), so it is only to be expected that the Goodison Park faithful would miss the Belgian.

However, with nine goals in 12 league appearances in Milan (via Transfermarkt), it is unlikely that the Toffees faithful will see a return from the 26-year-old anytime soon.
