Everton supporters have fumed over the number of tickets on sale for the Toffees’ clash with Liverpool at the start of December.

For the game in the evening on 4th December, the blue half of Merseyside has been allocated 2,749 away tickets for the clash (Everton, via Everton News Feed).

With the news being shared to social media, many Everton supporters reacted angrily to the slashed number of tickets available for them.

The same number were given to the Toffees in previous meetings between the two at Anfield and the reason is due to persistent standing from away fans (per Liverpool Echo).

In terms of the number for Liverpool’s 54,074-seater stadium, the council made the decision last year based on guidance from a safety advisory group, and it appears to be the same this year with the same allocation (via Liverpool Echo).

Despite the safety reasoning behind the cut number of tickets available, supporters began making some ironic plans for the December trip to Anfield.

What do we think?

At first glance, it may cause frustration for some Toffees supporters, appearing as though their noisy neighbours are cutting away ticket figures to boost their own fans in attendance.

However, if it is under the guidance of safety advice, then it seems a sensible option for the Reds to slash the number of away tickets for the clash.
