Marco Silva will be given three games to save his Everton career, according to the Mirror.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Portuguese 42-year-old would still be at the helm of the Goodison Park club for the upcoming game against Leicester City (via Daily Mail).

However, the latest report from the Mirror has suggested that the under-pressure gaffer will manage the clashes against the Foxes, the Merseyside derby and Chelsea at home.

Of course, a couple of thumping defeats could possibly speed up the process, but for now all he can do is try to tackle the uphill task of securing a result against three top sides.

Of the most likely options, who should Everton's next manager be?

Pressure has been mounting on the 42-year-old for a number of months now (per BBC), and following defeat to Norwich City on Saturday, things are beginning to heat up.

With the near-impossible looking task of facing second-placed Leicester City, then first-placed Liverpool and fourth-placed Chelsea (per BBC) to save his job, a sacking looks inevitable.

However, it may be in the club’s best interests to keep the Portuguese gaffer around for a little while longer.

Alongside the off chance being that he could pull results out of the bag, the next six games would look bleak for any incoming manager (via Sky Sports).

So, biding their time on relieving Silva of his duties allows the club time to find a suitable replacement and would give any incoming manager a much better-looking run of fixtures.
