Supporters of Everton have expressed their desire to see Djibril Sidibe continue at right-back.

A report from L’Equipe, in which the 27-year-old’s agent was interviewed, revealed that the french right-back wants to fight for his first-team spot, despite reports he may leave the club (via Sportswitness).

With the £10.8 million-rated full-back on loan at the club for the remainder of the season with an option to buy at the end (per BBC), supporters were calling for Silva to keep on turning to the Frenchman.

The 27-year-old arrived at Goodison Park from Monaco in August of this year (per Transfermarkt), having spent three years with his previous French club.

Since moving to Merseyside, Sidibe has featured on five occasions for Marco Silva’s side, three times in the Premier League and twice in the Carabao Cup (Transfermarkt).

Having started in the club’s last two Premier League fixtures, Everton fans were convinced they had seen enough of their man to warrant a permanent starting spot in Silva’s side.

What do we think?

While Sidibe only marginally edges out Seamus Coleman for average rating this season – Coleman with 6.65/10 for Everton and Sidibe with 6.68/10 (per Whoscored) – the Frenchman is in a promising position.

With Everton struggling for consistency at times, Marco Silva needs to look at finding the correct formula, which should involve Sidibe if the fans’ responses are anything to go by.
