Fans of Everton have taken to Twitter to call on the club to replace Marco Silva with Jose Mourinho.

Following a report posted by Sky Sports stating that Mourinho would like to return to Premier League management, Toffees supporters called on the Merseyside club to switch their Portuguese manager for another.

Pressure has been mounting on Silva for a number of weeks (per BBC), with positive results hard to come by and the relegation places not so far away.

With supporters feeling like a change is needed at Goodison Park to turn the club’s fortunes around and Mourinho looking for Premier League work, it was a move that made sense to Everton fans.

The Portuguese 56-year-old has been out of managerial work since he was relieved of his duties by Manchester United in December 2018 (as per BBC).

Now, almost a year on from his Red Devils sacking, the three-time Premier League champion is seemingly ready to return to England’s top flight.

Despite talk of a number of other Premier League clubs fitting for the Portuguese manager’s desires (per The Guardian), Everton fans were clear that they were the club for him.

What do we think?

For the Toffees hierarchy to tempt ‘the special one‘ to Goodison Park would certainly be an impressive feat should it be achieved; with the stature of other clubs touted to be circling for him (via The Guardian).

Indeed, should Everton make the chop with Silva and, somehow, tempt Mourinho to Merseyside, it could prove to be massive for the Toffees.
