Brazilian wonderkid Reinier Jesus is attracting interest from a number of European football’s top clubs. The 17-year-old’s father is said to be in contact with a number of clubs including North London giants Arsenal as reported by Mundo Deportivo (via AS). Following on from those original reports, the Spanish outlet (via the Mirror) are now reporting that the Gunners have made contact with the player’s father in order to try and convince him that Arsenal is the right destination for his son.
These supporters feel the clubs Technical Director Edu holds the keys to a potential deal with Flamengo and the player’s representatives.

Lol, definitely something to be excited about if possible… especially since AFC’s style of play is no longer anywhere close to the classiness of the globally appreciated Wenger-esque brand, at least some modern/evolved samba-football may potentially be the saving grace ??

What do we think?
Reinier Jesus is widely regarded as one of world football’s hottest prospects. The 17-year-old has already managed four goals and two assists in his 12 Serie A appearances for Flamengo. With Edu at the helm, there is a hope that his knowledge of the Brazilian transfer market will enable the Gunners to steal a march on the competition when it comes to plucking talents from South America.
Multiple clubs are said to have expressed their interest in the player and that can only strengthen the bargaining position of his current employers. Flamengo will be well aware of the attention their young star is attracting and will look to ensure any prospective deal is largely beneficial to the club. The deal remains a long way from being complete but Arsenal fans can take encouragement from the fact they’re monitoring the player and reportedly in the running to sign him.
