Arsenal boss Unai Emery has come in for much criticism in recent weeks. The team’s performances have been extremely poor of late, most notably in the games at Sheffield United, versus Vitoria S.C. and most recently at home to Crystal Palace. The Gunners are not in great shape on the pitch but have recent events cost Unai Emery the respect of some of the clubs playing staff?
According to a report in the Independent, members of the squad can be heard mocking the Head Coach on the training ground, suggesting that support for him and his methods is waning. These Arsenal fans, though, simply aren’t buying it.

Whereas others have labelled this another damning indictment of where Arsenal are and the lack of leadership and respect within the club. These fans were quick to point out similar issues at Paris Saint-Germain and Valencia.

What do we think?
Is history repeating itself? Has Unai Emery lost the respect of the playing staff at yet another big club? Based on the latest reports, it’s impossible to know for sure but one thing is for certain – the pressure on the Spaniard is increasing from all quarters.
If there is any truth in the recent reports, Arsenal fans have every right to feel concerned and the story reinforces the wider view that Emery could be out of his depth in north London. Following last weekends events, these latest reports and the on-going hostilities towards Granit Xhaka, the Gunners are in desperate need of a positive result this weekend.
