The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported that the Arsenal board are “100% behind the manager” and believe that the club is on “the right path.” The report emerged just a day after the Gunners suffered defeat at Leicester City and has sparked outrage amongst the fan base further highlighting the disconnection between Arsenal Football Club and their supporters.
These supporters are furious with this latest update and some have accused the club of showing a “mid-table” mentality.
Mid table club now, it’s confirmed

Are they being serious. Time to revolt and make it unbearable for them all. This is shambolic. He needs to go now

Pathetic reaction to dismiss fans unrest as ‘noise’ football awful, tactics clueless, lesser teams dominant and players look lost…club happy to plod along and make Europa League… Top 6 seems to be acceptable… spineless board who lack the will to be ambitious

An insult to the fans for the board to suggest it won’t react to fan ‘noise’. If you don’t react to noise, react to the absolute garbage that’s being served up on the pitch.

What do we think?
Confidence in Emery is at an all-time low. Following the latest in a poor run of results, many Arsenal fans will have hoped the board would have taken action by now but it appears that the Spaniard still has the full backing of the clubs hierarchy.
Whilst the fans continue to voice their discontent both in the stadium and on social media, the club run the risk of further damaging an already fragile relationship with the wider fan base.
Ornstein has traditionally reported on Arsenal with great accuracy but some supporters lost faith in him when he reported the Gunners could not afford Nicolas Pepe and went on to sign him just a few weeks later. You certainly shouldn’t believe everything you read but with very little communication coming from the club directly you can understand why supporters are keen to jump on the journalist’s every word.
Are the club’s board genuinely in full support of the former Paris Saint-Germain boss or was that the dreaded vote of confidence?
