Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has leapt to the defence of his under-fire boss Unai Emery.
Speaking to France 24, the forward said: “Last season when we were unbeaten in 20 games in a row nobody said anything about the coach or manager. We miss confidence and we need the international break. I hope we are going to come back well. We want to be top four, of course. Now we are nine points behind Chelsea and Leicester and it is going to be hard, but everything is possible in football.”
A sign of unity between the Head Coach and his players, but the Frenchman’s comments haven’t gone down well with these supporters.

What do we think?
Lacazette, who is valued at £63 million (as per Transfermarkt), has infuriated sections of the fanbase by defending a coach the majority have lost complete faith in. However, on the flip side, he’s hardly going to criticise his boss in the public domain but such is the disharmony amongst the clubs global support, these comments were always going to spark a negative reaction.
Perhaps we’re starting to see a divide between the players and the supporters and given what Granit Xhaka recently experienced, perhaps the criticism is beginning to filter through to the rest of the players and is having a negative effect.
