Just hours after Unai Emery’s sacking was announced, the club’s social media team via Twitter have posted photos from today’s training session being run by club legend and the new interim Head Coach Freddie Ljungberg.
The Swede will take charge of the first-team until a new permanent boss is appointed. and judging by their reactions, the club’s supporters are feeling a lot more positive going into Sunday’s game at Norwich.
I can’t believe I have nothing negative to say right now. #COYG

Is Freddie Ljungberg a candidate for the permanent position?
Yes
No
What do we think?
Often when a manager who was surrounded by such negativity is replaced there is an immediate up-turn in performances and the general mood around the club. Freddie Ljungberg, given his legendary status as a player, is certainly somebody everybody at the club can get behind and we expect the Gunners to ride that wave of positivity for a little while – starting this weekend at Carrow Road.
Whatever happens on Sunday, very few expect Ljungberg to remain in the post longer than a couple of weeks and so if the team were to fail to pick up a positive result it will likely be blamed on Emery, however if the team win he’ll receive all the credit. It’s a win-win situation for a man who already enjoys an incredible bond with the club’s faithful.
If he changes things dramatically it will show that even as one of Emery’s assistants he didn’t himself believe in the former Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla boss’ methods.
