Fans of Everton have aired their fury over Anthony Taylor being appointed as the referee for the club’s tie against Norwich City.
The official has sparked outrage due to being the Video Assistant Referee for the Toffees’ clash against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month (per Liverpool Echo).
In the clash which infamously resulted in the horrific injury to Andre Gomes (per BBC), VAR presented a huge talking point of controversy due to poor and slow decision making (per The Guardian).
With the news relayed to the Goodison Park faithful by journalist Adam Jones, Everton supporters fumed over the decision to appoint him as the referee.
I am genuinely shocked that PGMOL could be so stupid . What world do they live in ?

Following the clash with Tottenham, it was reported that the Toffees wrote a letter to the Premier League expressing their concerns over the implementation of VAR in England’s top flight (per Liverpool Echo).
With Taylor at the helm for the clash with the Canaries, many of the fans were worrying over what it would mean for the Toffees.

What do we think?
It does seem bizarre that just two short weeks following on from the VAR controversy that surrounded Everton’s last outing, it would be decided that Taylor should be the man to head to Goodison Park.
Whether it is perhaps blind ignorance or something deeper from those behind the decision making, it certainly raises a few questions.
