Some Norwich City fans are fuming about a tweet from the club that has thanked the Carrow Road faithful for their support.

Daniel Farke’s men fell to another disappointing defeat in the South Coast when they were beaten 2-0 by Brighton at the Amex Stadium at the weekend.

Second-half goals from Leandro Trossard and Shane Duffy proved enough to keep the Canaries in the relegation zone. This came a week after their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United (Sky Sports).

After the loss to the Seagulls, the club’s Twitter handle thanked the fans for turning up despite the defeat. But some fans reacted negatively to it.

The defeat at the Amex was the club’s fifth defeat in as many as six Premier League games, with their last win coming back in August against the Champions Manchester City at Carrow Road.

Since then, they have drawn once and that draw too was a goalless one against Bournemouth. Since the win against City, the club has conceded 14 goals – five of which came in their home game against Aston Villa.

Their defensive record is currently the second-worst in the league and they’re only behind Southampton – the club that conceded nine goals at home to Leicester City recently.

Despite the poor run of form, some Norwich fans are upbeat as there is still a long season yet to be played.

The club’s problems don’t just exist at the back. They have only scored two goals in the league since scoring three against City. Star striker Teemu Pukki has scored six times this season, but the Finland man is yet to score in his last six games.

The two goals since the City win have been scored by Onel Hernandez and Josip Drmic.

What do we think?

The same approach that Farke used in the Championship has been found out in the Premier League. The club has not adapted to being found out by clubs and that is costing them points. Farke needs to find a way to change his approach and catch the opposition by surprise.

The upcoming games against Watford and Everton will likely prove to be huge in their potential survival.
