Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to call for Sean Longstaff to start in their weekend clash with Manchester City.
This comes after the official Newcastle Twitter account shared a post on their page of a picture of the midfielder in a recent training session.
The tweet announced that Longstaff is back “in contention” for the weekend’s Premier League action.
This then led to a number of Newcastle fans replying to the tweet hoping to see Longstaff play in the clash with the Premier League champions.
Should Sean Longstaff start against Manchester City?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans calling for Longstaff to start against City on Saturday:

Longstaff has missed the previous three Newcastle fixtures after picking up his first red card in their 1-1 draw against Wolves back in October.
Now that his ban has ended, some Newcastle fans are already looking forward to his return to the team.
Starts ahead of shelvey imo

What do we think?
It’s good to see the Newcastle fans so upbeat and positive about seeing Longstaff making his potential return to the side. With their poor performance in the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Monday evening, the fans will be looking to the 22-year-old to provide a spark in their tough clash against City at St. James’ Park.
