Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to praise their club’s transfers in recent years, specifically with how many players have been transferred out of the club.
This comes after Liverpool journalist James Pearce shared a post on his official Twitter page that included an article from The Athletic on the club’s recent transfer activity.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to praise their club on its recent transfers in and out of the club.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans reacting to Pearce’s post:
That point towards the end is a really good one, not one of those players Liverpool sold are worth more now than when they departed, and in contrast, so many of Liverpool’s current team are worth (a lot) more than when Liverpool bought them.

Liverpool’s sporting director Michael Edwards, in particular, has been getting a lot of praise for the Reds’ recent crop of transfers in and out of the club. Two of the top signings for Liverpool in recent years have been Sadio Mane from fellow Premier League club Southampton, and Mohamed Salah from Italian side Roma.
Who has been the better signing for Liverpool?
Sadio Mane
Mohamed Salah

OUT: Benteke, Sakho, Ibe, Smith and Solanke (£98m).
IN: Salah, Mane and Firmino (£102m)— Saksham (@SalahRedArmy) November 26, 2019
What do we think?
Of course, Michael Edwards’ ability to get a solid fee out of ordinary players is quite remarkable, with Jordon Ibe (£15m) and Dominic Solanke (£19m) given as a couple of examples.
Liverpool have spent their money wisely too in recent years. The sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for a fee of £142 million saw the club bring in goalkeeper Alisson Becker and centre-half giant Virgil van Dijk, who are now two of Liverpool’s most important players. (per Transfermarkt).
But for any of these recent transfers to be considered true club greats, they will need to win the trophy they have been fighting so long for, the Premier League trophy.
