Coming off the back of a 5-0 win against Tranmere, Sunderland fans were likely expecting a bit more against midtable Shrewsbury. Instead, the team lost 1-0 after Jason Cummings put the home team up 1-0 inside 22 minutes.
After the loss, fans of the Black Cats remained calm, despite seeing areas for improvement. Some fans quickly identified that the performance was good, however the team must be more clinical going forward if they want to take all three points away from games. Another fan says he isn’t concerned yet, but would like to see the team string together a few wins in a row.
Bit of both

Tbh we did enough to win the game. However not finding the net has cost the game. Still too early to write season off so onwards we go.

Other fans see the loss as a reality check that highlights areas for improvement. These fans don’t seem to show any major areas for concern either, though.
Certainly a reality check after the over reaction to beating Tranmere

Form is a concern…and i worry about on field leaders..I also fly in the face of the common view that this squad is a quality squad for Div1..we would not be where we are if it were. Need a no.10 … creative…big time!

What do we think?
Fans will be hoping for a win against Oxford United on Tuesday to get back to winning ways. Oxford currently sits fifth in the League One, though, meaning this could be a difficult away game. With Phil Parkinson at the helm, the Black Cats will be looking to get back to winning ways once again.
