A lot of Leeds United fans are furious with the pitiful fine handed out by UEFA to the Bulgarian FA over their racist chanting at England players last month.

A fine of around £65,000 was handed out to the Bulgarian FA and a two-game stadium ban – which in the grand scheme of things is nothing at all.

Last year Leeds were fined £200,000 for having a man on a public footpath near Derby County’s training ground.

The incident became known as “spygate,” and Marcelo Bielsa paid the fine.

The EFL also invented a new rule just so they could fine Leeds – while UEFA sees a punishment of £65,000 as enough for racism. It is all just wrong.

These Leeds fans are rightly furious with this decision.

Of course, it is not just UEFA that doesn’t punish racism accordingly, but the FA fined Millwall a paltry £10,000 for racist chanting during their match with Everton in January.

What do we think?

The decision taken by UEFA to hand out such a pathetic punishment really is not surprising, but the fact that Leeds were fined nearly three times as much for “spygate” is a concern.

The FA will probably criticise UEFA for their actions, but that pitiful fine they handed out to Millwall indicates that they also are not taking racism seriously.

Leeds fans have every right to be furious with this ridiculous decision.
