West Ham fans are desperate for something to change at the moment. The Hammers are on a four-game winless run and their next game is at home to Sheffield United, a team they have a lot of history with owing to Carlos Tevez and the controversy over his signing.
The history of this fixture and the bad blood behind it is explained by Football.London, but getting back to the footballing side of things, if the Irons want to see some in-form players this weekend they need only look as far as the crop of U23s in East London…

One of those who has been in great form for West Ham’s U23s is Joe Powell, who scored a wonderful goal as you can see above. After some of the fans saw it, though, they were calling for the starlet to be used against Sheffield United on Saturday, and it really isn’t hard to understand why.
After last weeks game id play the lot of them

Other fans, though, have not been so reactionary and demanded that their U23s are thrown into the first team. Instead, they’re just delighted to see the youth side performing as well as they are and have been raving over the calibre of the players coming out of the Academy…
Absolute class….Well done fella
