Many West Ham United fans have had a mixed reaction to a still image of Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller during the game against Sheffield United.
A still image of a golden chance from Saturday’s game has caused quite the stir. Some say the Brazilian didn’t see the forward, others say the Frenchman was offside, whilst one fan just wishes he never saw the picture.
The chance was wasted by Anderson when the Hammers were 1-0 up against the Blades, so this was a vital chance to put the game to bed. However, the chance was wasted and the Hammers ended up settling for a point when Lys Mousset equalised in the 69th minute.
An image of a tv taken on an Android phone isn’t exactly VAR, but the evidence we have looks, perhaps, pretty clear cut against the 26-year-old Brazilian winger.
Still annoyed Felipe Anderson didn’t square it to Haller to make it 2-0 West Ham pic.twitter.com/4VkKa0FyTF

In real time the square ball was never on. His angle of approach meant hitting the far post was extremely difficult, let alone squaring it to Haller who he wouldn’t have even seen!! Don’t get sucked in by the still shot.

If he wasn’t offside, the goal would have been Haller’s fifth (provided he scored), with the Frenchman already scoring four goals in his first nine games this season.
He has got to square it to be fair. Typical us that.

There is no way in real time of him squaring that ball. Stop being a melon.

What Do We Think?
All players want to score goals, so you can’t hate Anderson too much for taking the shot on, because had he scored that shot, nobody would be complaining about him not squaring it to Haller.
Most of the fans seem to think the Frenchman was offside anyway, but maybe next time the South American should square it and let VAR take the blame instead.
