Some Spurs fans were keen to look for positives in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, with several fans celebrating the yellow card received by full-back Danny Rose; a booking which will mean that Rose misses out on Spurs’ visit to Goodison Park next weekend through suspension.
Rose picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 37th minute at Anfield, so he will be forced to serve a one-game suspension. Spurs fans reacted well to the news of their left-back missing next week’s game against Everton, however, with the 29-year-old Englishman having started the season very poorly for Mauricio Pochettino’s side; averaging a 6.52 rating this season so far.
Rose’s absence may present a chance for summer signing Ryan Sessegnon to make his Tottenham debut. Sessegnon regularly featured at left-back and as a left midfielder last season with Fulham and may be considered ready to make his impact with Spurs next weekend having been listed as ‘available’ by football.london.
Some of the best reactions from Spurs fans to the news of Rose’s suspension can be seen in the tweets below:

These tweets clearly show that some Spurs fans believe that Rose’s suspension will only aid the side ahead of their next fixture away at Everton.
What do we think?
It is a surprise that Pochettino continues to favour Danny Rose despite his form, with the full-back starting nine out of their 10 Premier League games thus far. Ben Davies performed very well (receiving a solid 7.3) in Spurs’ recent win over Red Star Belgrade, so it was perhaps a surprise to see him dropped for the trip to Anfield.
