Some Manchester United fans are suspicious about the recent injury update about Paul Pogba which states that the midfielder has been ruled out of action till December.

The Frenchman was missing from United’s first-team squad that beat Norwich City 3-1  in the Premier League at Carrow Road on Sunday evening.

Pogba has been missing from the side since he started in United’s 1-1 draw at Arsenal but has been out injured since then.

After the win in East Anglia, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Pogba will be missing for the club till December and is continuing his recovery from an ankle injury.

But some United fans are sensing something fishy in the whole issue.

The midfielder re-joined United from Juventus in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £89m. Since arriving back at Old Trafford, he has appeared in 148 games in all competitions for the club. He has scored 31 times, assisting just as many times.

Pogba also played for Solskjaer’s men in United’s League Cup game against Rochdale – a clash that they won on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

The 26-year-old has already assisted twice in the Premier League so far, but both of them came in the side’s 4-0 win over Chelsea in the first game of the season.

Some United fans have also defended Pogba, despite the others sending trouble.

Despite having played just five games in the Premier League so far, he has played the second-highest number of key-passes in total, with an average of 13. However, he has played the highest number of key passes per game at an average of 2.6 (via Whoscored).

The former Juventus man has also completed the second-highest number of dribbles per game for the club, achieving 1.6 and is only behind Anthony Martial in the standings.

This past summer, Pogba had publicly stated that he saw it as a chance to get a ‘new challenge‘ for himself. Juventus and Real Madrid had been linked with a move and Mino Raiola had also stated that he was looking to leave.

What do we think?

Pogba is, arguably, United’s best midfielder. Since his injury, United have scored just two goals in four matches before the win over Norwich. In his presence, they scored eight times. The aforementioned stat says a lot about what he brings to the table.

He does seem injured and while he could still be keen to leave, his return should bring a huge boost to United’s attack.
