Liverpool have commenced the 2019/20 Premier League campaign in spectacular fashion to sit top of the league table with eight wins from eight games, and the importance of one player has certainly not gone unnoticed by some of the Anfield faithful.
Sadio Mane, 26, has been in emphatic form for the Reds in the current campaign, scoring five goals and registering two assists to provide Jurgen Klopp’s side with an excellent platform for domestic success in 19/20.
Since arriving at the club, the Senegalese forward is yet to lose a home game at Anfield – a run dating back to 2015 when he was a player at former club Southampton. During this time, Mane has won the Champions League with Klopp’s side whilst also falling fractionally short of the Premier League title in the 2018/19 campaign.
Whilst it has often been Mane’s Egyptian counterpart, Mohamed Salah, who has stolen the headlines on Merseyside in recent years, the Senegalese forward’s contribution has been terrific so far this season, and the 27-year-old’s importance to the Reds has got some fans singing his praises.
Sadio Mane has upped his @premierleague numbers across the board this season ???

Mane is better than Salah and firmino. Without mane in Liverpool attack, there won’t be much firepower in the attack

Mane’s current contribution has propelled Liverpool to the summit of the Premier League, and the club’s fans will be hoping for a continuation of this form into European competition as the Reds bid to progress from group E and retain their title as the Champions of Europe for the seventh time.
There can be no doubting Mane will be central to any success Liverpool will have in the current campaign, and the stat highlighting his performances in the club’s home games simply paints a picture of a player who is fundamentally important to the club’s success during the Klopp era.
