After a landmark court case opened the door for Nike to become Liverpool’s kit sponsor, many fans have been crying out for the money generated to be used on Kylian Mbappe.
After news broke of the Nike agreement last week, #Mbappe2020 started to trend on Twitter, as excitable fans began to dream of the seemingly impossible move coming to fruition.
In an unexpected twist, it has been claimed that (as per Daily Express, via Sport Review) Jurgen Klopp is already “laying down the groundwork” in his efforts to potentially bring the Frenchman to Anfield.
And, it’s safe to say that the idea of Mbappe moving to Anfield is something that excites many fans.
He keeps getting linked with #LFC but do you think Mbappe will join the Reds?

What we think
There does appear to be a tacit acceptance that a move for Mbappe remains highly unlikely for the foreseeable future, even with the added riches that the Nike deal will surely bring. Although, there may still be a small amount of hope amongst some fans that it could actually become a possibility one day, particularly if one of Liverpool’s front three departs the club. For now, #Mbappe2020 will simply remain a hashtag, but beyond next summer, who knows.
