Everton fans have taken to Twitter to air concerns over the injury Bernard suffered in the Toffees’ 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Brazilian attacker was forced off the field after just half an hour in the Merseyside club’s trip to the south coast, and supporters recently received an update.
Following a scan, an update posted to Everton’s official Twitter account revealed that the 27-year-old had suffered a grade two medial ligament injury and will be set to miss two to four weeks of action.
With Marco Silva’s side already struggling for form, fans were concerned over the further impact of missing one of their star men for up to a month.
Bad news! Be out a while then. Get well soon fella and hope you come back stronger than ever

Very sorry to hear that. One of the few brilliant players will be out for one month or so. Hope to see you in good condition soon, Bernard

Everton’s relatively small squad is certainly having recurring major injury problems which appear to be having a disastrous effect on our season which is stalling badly.

Bernard has been a key feature in the Toffees’ side this season, having missed only Manchester City’s visit to Goodison Park and didn’t get on the field against Burnley (per Transfermarkt).
While Everton’s results have failed to inspire, to say the least (Daily Mail), the 27-year-old Brazilian had enjoyed a positive start to his second season with the Toffees – scoring three Premier League goals in eight outings (Transfermarkt).
With Silva’s side sitting in sixteenth in the table and only two points above the drop zone, fans were dreading Bernard potentially being out until December.

What do we think?
Everton’s £18 million-rated man (as per Transfermarkt) has dazzled the Goodison Park faithful with his quick feet and impressive performances. In Everton’s first win since the start of September against West Ham, the attacker put in an 8/10 performance (via Liverpool Echo) and scored the Toffees’ opening goal – proving what a vital asset he is.
With Marco Silva finding luck, and results, hard to come by – he will be hoping, along with Everton supporters, that Bernard is back to full fitness as soon as possible.
