Aston Villa fans have been pleading on Twitter for young defender Kortney Hause to start in Villa’s Carabao Cup clash with Wolves on Wednesday.
These calls have come off the back of an Aston Villa Twitter fan account (avfchistory) sharing a poll asking Villa fans if they think manager Dean Smith will change his team for the midweek match.
The majority of Villa fans think Smith will make a small number of changes to the first team on Wednesday.
This tweet then led to some Villa fans listing Hause as one player to start against their rivals.
Here’s a sample of what Villa fans had to say:
Does Dean Smith rotate the squad for the Carabao Cup game against Wolves or does the game mean to much to the fan base and does he keep to a full strength team?

The 24-year-old has started in Villa’s previous two matches in the Carabao cup, the 6-1 victory over Crewe Alexandra in the second round and then the 3-1 victory over Brighton in the third round (Transfermarkt), but has failed to appear in the Premier League. The defender could be in line to make an appearance against his old club Wolves, who sold him to Villa this summer for a fee of just over £3 million (per Transfermarkt).

What do we think?
Well, considering that Hause has already played in two Carabao Cup games so far this season, it would make sense for Smith to select him to play in the latest match against Wolves, as he’s helped get them to this point and there’s the extra incentive to show his old club what they’re missing out on. So, with a lot of Villa fans calling for Hause to start, it’s now up to Smith to gather his thoughts and pick a team that can get the job done.
