Good news. A report I saw earlier today suggested that he would be out for two weeks, possibly four.

Grealish has been one of Villa’s star players so far this season, collecting four goals and four assists in 12 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt). The 24-year-old went off in the second half of Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City last weekend with a suspected calf injury. It was first reported by the Daily Mail that the midfielder could miss up to four weeks of action through injury, but now it’s looking like the injury is not as serious as first feared.

What do we think?
Grealish’s stats so far this season proves just why he is an important figure for Villa. Specifically, Grealish is an important figure for the Birmingham club when it comes to attacking moves. So far this season he has managed 1.8 shots per game and 1.9 dribbles per game, according to WhoScored, as well as ranking as their second overall top performer this season with a rating of 7.35. If Grealish can recover in time for the weekend, it will surely big a big boost for Villa in their game against league leaders Liverpool at the weekend.
This latest injury update proving his calf injury is not as serious as first thought will be a blessing to every Villa fan.
