West Ham’s current squad has got an average age of 28.5-years-old (Transfermarkt), yet that could be set to go down significantly over the January transfer window seeing as Claret and Hugh claim that both Carlos Sanchez and Pablo Zabaleta could be allowed to leave in the January transfer window.
The West Ham news source has claimed that letting the two South Americans leave the club could save £120,000 from the club’s wage bill, and they’ve also said that the likes of Ben Johnson and Joe Powell could be the two youngsters set to step up to the fill void left by the departing veterans should they go.
West Ham could make an immediate £120k saving on their weekly wage bill this winter by letting Zabaleta and Sanchez move on should they find clubs. Robert Snodgrass’ future is also in question.

Amid this latest news, though, the fans are far from happy that Zabaleta could be close to the exit door. A lot of the Irons like the Argentine, and across the five games he’s played this season, he’s featured as both a left-back and a right-back when needed (Transfermarkt), with his versatility making him a useful utility man.
No zabaleta and snograss are strong players who are not afraid to get stuck in we need players like them same as ginge we should have kept him

I would keep zabaleta until the summer

Why Zabaleta when he covers several positions and offers proper professionalism.

Zabaleta is worth every penny. As for Sanchez

However, even the fans who haven’t mentioned Zabaleta aren’t all on board with the idea of letting the two go in January, mainly because of their doubts over where the saved money from the wage bill would end up.
