The scene at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is not a particularly pretty one at the moment.
Across the three competitions Spurs have played in this season, they’re out of the Carabao Cup, 3rd in their Champions League group and 9th in the Premier League.
The fans are keen for some sort of reinforcements to come in when January comes around, although it looks like Mauricio Pochettino has shot that down when he spoke on Thursday in his press conference (transcribed by Football.London) as he claimed he believed in the players he has at the club now.
Pochettino was asked if Spurs will sign players in January: "I don't believe so. I believe in the players that we have at Tottenham today. If it's my decision I will stick with my players. They have the quality. We have great quality to fight for the things we expect to fight."

Now, if this is true, the Lilywhites have some cause for concern. So far this season, Spurs have already conceded an eye-watering 21 goals in just 11 games, however, some of the fans are seeing straight through Poch’s comments and are hoping that his words are hollow for the sake of keeping the squad’s morale as high as possible.
He’s 100% said this to give the players there the confidence to play. If he came out and said “Yes, we need to clear out the deadwood” how on earth is he going to motivate them? He’s been saying as much for 2 years and the players are now at a very low ebb.

He has to say that, if he alerts clubs that we are in market for players, the price goes up straight away…. we will defo sign in Jan

This is the best thing to say to the media as it sends out a positive message to the team. Doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s actually what he really thinks and what will really happen…

Making the players feel like they’re trusted smart from Poch, we’re stuck with these players until January so might as well keep their mentality up

That had better be a smokescreen because from where i’m sitting it looks like the team needs plenty of investment and improvement starting with Dybala, a back up striker for when Harry rolls his ankle, couple of new RBs, GK, Central Defenders… Poch contradicting himself

However, not every Spurs fan is seeing Pochettino’s comments as a smokescreen. Some of them have taken it at face value, and they’ve been going to town on their manager in the comments, calling for him to leave, lambasting him as a clown and claiming he’s lost the plot.
I cant stress how much I want Poch gone.
He’s lost the plot.

Na- I’ve had enough of this clown now. It’s blatantly obvious the squad is stale and we are in free fall!? He’s clueless

If he realy thinks that hes lost the plot
