On transfer Deadline Day Tottenham signed both Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso, but the fans also had the disappointment of missing out on Paulo Dybala (Sky Sports). Having failed to secure the Argentine’s signature, though, it looks like the Lilywhites are back in for a forward in January.
The forward in question, like Dybala, also hails from South America, but he plies his trade on the other half of the Superclasico de las Americas. He also is yet to play football in Europe as Everton Soares, the man in question, is currently under contract at Gremio in the Brazilian Serie A.

It was reported that the 23-year-old left-winger was being watched by Tottenham’s Steve Hitchen during Gremio’s 1-1 draw against Flamengo in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores semi-final in early October, with Everton setting up his side’s goal in the draw (Sky Sports).
HUGE if we can pull this off

Going for him now instead of Dybala. Would be happy with him

Would be great signing

Tottenham aren’t the first North London side to try and strike up a deal to sign the Gremio man. Over the summer, Arsenal were reportedly interested in the Brazilian (Sky Sports), yet an asking price of 60m euros is claimed to be what stopped any move from happening over the summer (Globo Esporte).
The large fee is a worrying one, especially seeing as Everton is yet to play any football outside of Brazil in his short career and has just 44 goals at club level in his career (Transfermarkt).
Not sure how I feel. Looks talented but at 23 and still in the Brazilian league, I have questions about long term potential
