It’s fair to say that Serge Aurier has never really found a home at Tottenham Hotspur. The Ivorian right-back’s time at the club has been one big disaster, and whilst there have been some decent performances scattered in since his £23m signing from PSG (BBC), it’s mostly been a dreadful move.
In Aurier’s club career, the defender has made 261 appearances and been sent off four times. However, two of those dismissals have come in his time at Tottenham, despite the fact he’s played just 45 times for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).
That’s not a flattering stat, and it will come as little surprise that Football Insider have claimed Daniel Levy is ready to sell the defender at a loss in January.

It is a real shame. Whilst he may have been sent off twice for Spurs, his record of chipping in with goals and assists is strong for a right-back with 11 goal involvements in 45 games.
The talent is there, but the decision-making and rashness that he’s displayed isn’t good enough, which is why so many Tottenham fans are pleased that he could be set to leave…
Has the penny finally dropped for our amazing chairman?

Whilst many supporters are just pleased to see that Aurier could be on his way out, others are already calling for who they want to see replace him in the January window, with the name Youcef Atal cropping up on the lips of the fans, a young right-back who has been linked with Spurs recently by The Daily Star as a potential signing for the North Londoners in January.
