Tottenham fans have been buoyed by the sight of new summer signing Ryan Sessegnon in training ahead of the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

He is set to be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game and plenty of Tottenham fans are hoping he can finally make his debut after arriving from Fulham injured.

Sessegnon arrived in a £25m deal from Fulham over the summer and Spurs fans are still unsure of where he’s going to play.

The versatile 19-year-old played in both full-back positions and on both wings for Fulham last season.

Tottenham have been struggling at right-back after Kieran Trippier left, with Davinson Sanchez played there in the north London derby after Kyle Walker-Peters was injured.

After seeing him in action at Enfield on Friday afternoon, Spurs fans will be hoping that Sessegnon at least makes the bench for the 3pm kick-off tomorrow.

Here are the best reactions from Spurs fans:

One fan pleaded with Mauricio Pochettino to start him on Saturday. That might be too much to ask. Sessegnon hasn’t played since mid-June when he put in a cameo performance in the England Under-21 side’s 4-2 defeat to Romania.

We could see him making the bench, though, and coming on for his first taste of life in a Tottenham shirt late on.

Another fan said, “Finally some good news” in a week that saw new signing Giovani Lo Celso ruled out of action until the end of October after falling foul of the international break.

He was the victim of two crunching tackles in the ‘friendly’ game against Chile last week and the Argentine, despite brushing the injury off after the game, is now set for an extended stay on the sidelines.

He has only managed three cameo appearances since arriving from Real Betis.

There was more good news as well, though, with a follow-up tweet from Tottenham showing fellow summer signing Tanguy Ndombele back in training too.

Some fans are very excited about the prospect of Sessegnon being unleashed into the Tottenham side. One said, “What a buzz, get ready for this kid”, while another said, “I think he’ll be on fire”. No pressure, then.
