Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to praise James Forrest for his efforts against Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The Scottish international was in fine form during the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday, and provided the cross for Odsonne Edouard to nod home the equaliser just before half time.

But it was his all-round display that really caught the eye.

From the first minute, Forrest looked lively and hungry, and it was he who created most of the Hoops’ clearest openings before the interval.

His intensity was impressive, as was his imagination, and his performance was thoroughly deserving of a goal.

Here are some of the best tweets from supporters.

Forrest has been in irresistible form at times this season.

It may still be September, but he has already been involved in 14 goals in 15 games for the Hoops, scoring seven and assisting seven more.

Those kind of numbers have made him one of the brightest sparks in Neil Lennon’s arsenal, and he showed why again today with another barnstorming display.

There are few players in Scotland who can match him in terms of energy and quality, as shown by his performances for the national side in recent times.

As per Whoscored, the 28-year-old averaged 3.3 shots (second-most), 3.7 successful dribbles (most), and 1.3 key passes (fifth-most) for his country during their UEFA Nations League campaign last season.

When he hits that sort of rhythm, he can be difficult to disrupt, and he proved that again against Killie.

One fan proclaimed, “What a footballer” after the game on Sunday and there’s no indication that he can’t continue to be that player for some time come.

At 28, he is at the peak of his powers, and should have a few years left at the top in him. He’s also got three years left on his contract at Celtic and has never played for another club.

Bhoys fans will certainly be hoping that he remains a one-club player and that he can continue to wreak havoc for them for seasons to come.
