Rangers survived a scare in the Premiership on Saturday when they came from behind to beat 10-man Livingston.

The away side took the lead in the 47th minute through a Steven Lawless penalty after Ryan Kent had limped off in the first half.

Rangers dominated the first half but couldn’t convert any of their chances, but came to life when James Tavernier equalised from a free kick. Alfredo Morelos and Banrdon Barker scored either side of Lyndon Dykes’ sending off to seal the three points.

Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo is yet to convince many Rangers fans after signing on loan in the summer.

Plenty of supporters thought he was the weak link on Saturday with one describing him as an “empty jersey”.

Another fan said it was time to send him back to Liverpool.

Time to send him back to Liverpool? That seems harsh for a player who has delivered four goals and four assists in 11 games for Rangers so far this season.

From what we’ve seen this season, Ojo has talent and shows it in flashes, but isn’t yet delivering consistently enough for Rangers. It’s surely way too early to write him off, though, and one fan said his game might suit European opposition more, where opposition players aren’t sitting so deep.

Ojo has scored three in seven European games so far and should have a chance to add to that when Rangers player the first game in their Europa group against Feyenoord on Thursday.

Another fan said that he’d seen enough of Ojo “to last me a lifetime”. He also pointed out that “playing Kent without a preseason” was suicide. Kent signed just before the summer transfer window and made his first appearance for Rangers on Saturday.

He only lasted 41 minutes before limping off and Steven Gerrard said that the winger would be out for at least a few weeks. [BBC]

There are plenty of Rangers fans who don’t want to see Ojo play on Thursday, with one saying, “Anyone but Ojo on the right please”.

Scott Arfield played there in the 1-0 win against St Mirren but he was slammed by Rangers fans after the game on Saturday too.

Given Ojo’s goal-scoring record in Europe so far this season, we think the Liverpool loanee will get the nod against Feyenoord.
