Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react to the club’s official third kit launch.

Spurs will wear a sky blue number that is embossed with a subtle pattern that mimics the outer shell of their brand new stadium.

The shirt will also feature a navy, button-up collar, and navy trim on the sleeves.

The club made the announcement via their official Twitter in Tuesday, but some fans felt as if they had seen it all before.

And to be fair to them, that’s probably because they have.

The kit was leaked in images from Footy Headlines last month, leading some fans to react rather sarcastically to Spurs’ big announcement.

Here are some of the best tweets from supporters.

Those fans that were able to resist the urge to rinse the club for their poor secret-keeping skills were more receptive to the release, however, and there seemed to be a lot of love on social media for the effort.

And to be fair, it’s easy to see why.

One of the main criticisms that has been thrown at Nike in recent years is that they make kit templates rather than designs that are made to suit the club they are supposedly for.

There are no such worries with this shirt.

It may not be eclectic enough to smash through barriers or anything like that, but it is still a beautiful effort, and one that encapsulates where the club is at right now perfectly.

That sky blue, navy blue combo is synonymous with Spurs, almost as much as the lily-white of their home strip, but it is the background print that really elevates this shirt.

At once, both retro and yet distinctly modern, it feels very on trend right now, and the fact that they have managed to get rapper AJ Tracey to model it in the launch will do wonders for its credentials.

As for that button-up collar, it gives the whole thing a really classy feel, like something from the mid-90s.

Far too often, brands are trying to one up each other by looking ahead and trying to create something sleek and modern.

Sometimes it’s nice to go the other way, take a step back, and acknowledge some of the great ideas that have come before you.

Spurs and Nike have hit this one out of the park.
