The EFL announced its nominations for the August Player of the Month on Thursday and some Leeds fans are fuming that Ben White isn’t on the shortlist.

Daniel Johnson (Preston), Lyle Taylor (Charlton), Mike van der Hoorn (Swansea) and Ollie Watkins (Brentford) were all nominated but Leeds fans think their summer signing should be up there too.

He’s been brilliant since he signed from Brighton on loan this summer and has played every game for his new club so far this season.

White has already won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award after making more interceptions than any other player in the league.

However, he’s going to have to wait for recognition from the EFL.

Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans to the news:

Some fans were fairly measured in their responses to the EFL, but not this fan, and we’ve had to pixellate his actual reply. You can fill in the blanks.

You can’t please all of the fans all of the time and you have to be prepared to take some pelters on social media, no matter how positive your message.

One Leeds fan said, “God has been disrespected” and it shows what an impact White has made in his short time at Leeds.

Looking at the stats, there’s a big argument for White to have been included here. He’s got an average rating of 7.48 this season, the same as Daniel Johnson and higher than any of the other players on the list. Watkins is the next closest with a rating of 7.44. [WhoScored]

One fan said he disagreed with White’s omission, but agreed with the manager of the month nominations, with Marcelo Bielsa up for the award alongside Lee Bowyer (Charlton), Steve Cooper (Swansea) and Lee Johnson (Bristol City). Funny that.
