While other Premier League sides get ready to kick-start their season this weekend, Wolves have already been busy.

They previously smashed their way past Northern Irish club Crusaders 6-1 in the Europa League qualifiers and made short work of their Armenian opponents Pyunik Yerevan on Thursday night.

Wolves could have done without a gruelling trip ahead of their first Premier League fixture of the season, against Leicester on Sunday, but manager Nuno fielded a strong side and got the tie all but won in a 4-0 rout.

Matt Doherty got the opener after 29 minutes before Raul Jimenez carried on his impressive scoring record for Wolves with a quick-fire double either side of half-time. Ruben Neves capped the game off from the penalty spot in injury time.

Diogo Joto put in another impressive display for his side with a hat-trick of assists and plenty of Wolves fans were in raptures over what they saw from him.

Here are the best reactions from Wolves fans:

One fan said Jota was Wolves’ best player last night and his display was certainly effective. He made three goals in 62 minutes and attempted 20 passes, 17 of which found the mark. [wyscout.com] He made five passes to the final third (four were accurate) and four passes to the box (three were accurate). He’s now added five assists across the three Europa qualifiers and will be expected to carry this form on into the Premier League.

Another fan said that the Jota and Jimenez partnership is “looking unreal already” and it’s a pairing that will have most Premier League sides worried. Jimenez has scored four goals in three Europa qualifiers now and will want to improve on his 13 Premier League goals this season.

Wolves have quality throughout the team. If they were last season’s surprise package, finishing in seventh behind Man United, most teams will be very aware of the threat they pose in the 19/20 campaign.
