Tottenham could be on the verge of another major signing with Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso expected to join before the transfer window closes. [Football.London]

There’s no confirmation on the fee yet although with Real Betis having signed Nabil Fekir, 90mins.com have said it could be as low as £45m.

If that seems like a bargain then there’s even better news for Daniel Levy.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira delivered an update on the deal on his personal Twitter account late on Wednesday night.

Schira claimed Lo Celso would sign a five-year deal until 2024 on wages of £3.64m (€4m) a year.

Bargain buy?

If Schira’s figures are correct, Daniel Levy has negotiated a really good deal for the midfielder.

His £3.64m-a-year works out at around £70k-a-week, which only just gets Lo Celso into the first XI in terms of Tottenham’s salaries.

Harry Kane is the highest-paid player on £200k-a-week with Heung-Min Son behind on £140,000-a-week.

Lo Celso would come in behind Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela, and put him on a par with Serge Aurier. That’s good business. [Source: Spotrac]
