Tottenham have been linked with a move to bring striker Fernando Llorente back to the club, and fans are torn over the news.

However, after a poor start to the season that saw the club suffer its first defeat of the season to Newcastle on Sunday, Spurs are set to make another effort to sign him.
Football Insider have claimed that Spurs are confident they can land the free agent, who they can sign outside of the transfer window, but not everyone is convinced he’s the answer.
Here are the best reactions from Tottenham fans:

Why ppl still hate him he was the reason why spurs reached the final with his goal vs city and he changed the game vs ajax with his headers in the 2nd half good move

Please god let this happen

While he didn’t have the ability to lead the line for Tottenham when Harry Kane was out for an extended period, Llorente was a very effective impact sub and offered Tottenham something completely different. He proved that in the Champions League game against Ajax when he came on and turned the semi-final on its head.

Llorente might not be the only free agent out there but he is available and Tottenham can sign him and put him straight in the squad. He knows the club inside out and Pochettino knows exactly what he’d be getting from him. You can understand why this fan thinks it’s “our only play until the January window”.

This Tottenham fan makes a very good point, although Tottenham did try and sign him again when his contract expired in July. The trouble is, they didn’t want to pay him as much as they had been – reportedly £90,000-a-week. If they’d offered him the same terms then he might well be a Spurs player now.
How can people not want this when it clearly gets results

Should have brought in a replacement or at least shown some sign that Parrott might be trusted to help out. Since neither of those have happened and Llorente is still available this is a good move. Might take till Christmas to get him back up to speed though.

Have to admit this and it’s embarrassing we have to result to this but yesterday was exactly the type of game he use to come on and change.

Pochettino was short of options against Newcastle and Llorente was exactly the sort of player who could have come on and turned the game. However, as one fan said, Llorente is getting on… is he really the best striker option that Daniel Levy can find?
3 years past his best and this is the best we can do?

Parrot is already better.

Pochettino obviously doesn’t think Troy Parrott is “already better”. The 17-year-old might be one for the future but he hasn’t made his debut for the senior team yet and isn’t even making the bench yet.
