Tottenham are still confident of signing Ryan Sessegnon this summer in a £25m deal, according to the Daily Express

However, there is one complication to the deal going through as Spurs want to move Danny Rose on first.

He has his suitors – Arsenal, PSG, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are all interested – but Rose could still end up staying and has said he will only move on his terms.

Rose played at left-back in the last two pre-season friendlies for Spurs, against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Sessegnon has told Fulham he wants to move to Tottenham.

Davies v Rose v Sessegnon – fight!

The future of Danny Rose at Tottenham has been in doubt ever since that infamous interview he gave to the Sun back in the summer of 2017.

However, he’s been showing signs of getting back to the sort of form that made him a Tottenham favourite.

Ben Davies should be the number one choice at left-back next season – his defensive stats are better than either of the two other players and at 26 is three years younger than Rose.

He signed a new five-year contract earlier this year and Pochettino said of him, “He’s fantastic, not only today but in the last three seasons from the day he arrived, on the bench, out of the squad or playing, he’s a great professional, a great player and a great man.” [Football.London]

Sessegnon is a different sort of player though. He can play at left-back – which will be useful if Rose goes and Ben Davies gets injured – but he’s potentially a more devastating player further forward and could be a winger for Tottenham in the future.

Davies and Sessegnon makes much more sense for Tottenham than Davies and Rose.
