Tottenham’s club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele has been ruled out of the Premier League game against Newcastle on Sunday.
He picked up a minor injury in training and joins Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon on the sidelines, with the news being confirmed on the official Tottenham Twitter page on Friday afternoon.

Ndombele has enjoyed a fast start to his Tottenham career with a goal and an assist in two games.
He was given the second-highest outfield rating for a Tottenham player from WhoScored in the game against Man City (behind Erik Lamela) and the second-highest in the opening game against Aston Villa (behind Harry Kane).
He will be a miss and his absence will definitely be a boost for Newcastle who are struggling to get anything going under new manager Steve Bruce.
Tottenham fans were gutted with the news but plenty were saying the same thing and questioning why so many injuries seem to happen in training, with one asking, “What does Poch do to these players?”

Again, an injury sustained during training… what does Poch do to these players in training for them to consistently pick up knocks? It’s getting out of control

Ndombele never had an injury in his life and got one in training after 2 months, our training sessions need tweaking most of our players are injury prone and no other club has the same injury problems.

Our training methods are clearly getting our boys constantly injured, I’ve never known a football club to have so many constant injury problems during training and even warm ups during a match. Do we even have physios?

About time questions were asked why Spurs players pick up so many hamstring injuries in training? Getting to be a regular occurrence.

Porch needs to look at training style- causing lots of injuries…

One fan made a very pragmatic point though and told other supporters to stop panicking. “To anyone moaning about Tanguy, get a grip idiots. It says minor injury. We are playing Newcastle. Let him rest for NLD instead.”
That might not play well with Newcastle fans but the game against Arsenal the following Sunday will be a much tougher test and Ndombele will be needed then.
Another fan echoed that statement saying that he doesn’t mind Ndombele resting this weekend if he’s fit for the north London derby.
If he’s still out then, the questions about Tottenham’s training might well get louder.

I don’t mind resting Ndombele this weekend if it ensures he’s fit for Arsenal next weekend. Wonder if Lo Celso starts now that Ndombele isn’t playing this weekend.
