A section of Tottenham fans are fearing the worst ahead of their clash against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday after it was reported that Tanguy Ndombele is set to miss a second Premier League fixture in a row.

According to football.london, the 22-year-old is not expected to recover from a thigh injury in time for Spurs’ trip across North London after he was left out of the France squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Ndombele also missed out for Spurs last week when they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home against Steve Bruce’s Newcastle, who hadn’t picked up a single point before their visit to the capital.

Without Ndombele, Tottenham look like a worse side and that has led to concerns from fans about their match against north London rivals Arsenal this weekend.

The former Lyon midfielder, who cost Spurs £63million in the summer, scored on his debut against Aston Villa before supplying an assist in the impressive 2-2 draw away at Manchester City.

But for a second consecutive week, Mauricio Pochettino seems unlikely to have the France international at his disposal and that has understandably led to a lot of fans airing their concerns on Twitter.

These next fans seem to think that Tottenham’s training methods are what led to their players having injuries so frequently. While it is frustrating to see Ndombele suffer an injury just weeks into his career at the club, it is way too soon to assume that he has suddenly become a crock who is going to struggle to get to full fitness every week.

How can these fans turn against Pochettino based on an injury update? One says that he is “starting to lose faith” in the Argentine manager while another has accused him of lying. When Pochettino gives out injury updates, he’s either saying the complete truth, or hiding the complete truth. He does not give out injury updates to appease the fans, they can be used as mind-games against your opponent. Arsenal would have prepared to play against Ndombele, now those preparations are just wasted time. Pochettino has done so much for Tottenham, to lose faith in him over injuries is ridiculous.
