Two Scottish Premiership teams want to take Rangers winger Josh McPake on loan this summer, according to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell.
St Johnstone and Ross County are interested in signing the attacker, along with Dundee from the Championship. Ross County are currently third in the Premiership after a win and a draw from their first two games of the season.
Campbell made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Tuesday morning and added that a loan move could accelerate the player’s progression at the club.
The 17-year-old made his senior debut this summer in the Europa League qualifier against St Joseph’s FC that Rangers won 6-0.
Lots of teams interested in taking Rangers winger Josh McPake on loan, sources tell @TheAthleticUK. Dundee, St Johnstone and Ross County all chasing. He’s very highly thought of at Rangers so a loan could well accelerate his progression into the first-team.

Who is McPake?
The youngster has come up through the youth ranks at the club and was a part of Steven Gerrard’s pre-season preparations. That led to him making his debut in the Europa League but he’s well down the pecking order at the club and is unlikely to get much first-team football at Ibrox this season.
A loan would seem to make a lot of sense and while Dundee might be able to offer him more football in the Championship, he’d be stretched more at a club like Ross County.
Stats on Wyscout show that he could potentially offer a lot to teams outside the top two. He’s a direct player who attempts an average of over 10 dribbles per 90 minutes and isn’t afraid to shoot.
He signed a new three-year deal in July this year and first-team experience could be just what he needs ahead of next season.
Terrace talk
Rangers fans think they’re sitting on a potentially top-class talent, with one saying “If he keeps it up he’ll go straight to the top”.
Other fans were surprised that Premiership teams were interested but thought it would be a great move for McPake, with one saying top-flight football “is beyond what I thought possible this season for him”.
It appears that his pre-season and Europa experience has put him on the map.
He’s one of the academy’s best prospects. If he keeps it up he’ll go straight to the top.

A move to the premiership is beyond what I thought possible this season for him. It would be a terrific move to St Johnstone and he would do well for them.

Wow, great clubs for him to learn his trade at. Would be great if he could play at SPL level during his loan
