Chelsea are still looking for their first win under new manager Frank Lampard after a 1-1 draw with Leicester on Sunday.
One big positive from the 1-1 draw was the performance of 20-year-old Mason Mount, who spent last season on loan with Lampard’s Derby County.
The goal was smart, a low finish after Wilfred Ndidi lost the ball, and the youngster tucked it away low into the net after just seven minutes.
However, Chelsea couldn’t kick on from there and Ndidi made amends for his blunder in the second half, equalising with a header after 67 minutes.
Lampard kept faith with Mount and puzzled some people when he took off Jorginho for Mateo Kovacic after 71 minutes.
After that, it was Leicester who looked like they were going to win and James Maddison should have clinched it late on but blazed the ball over the bar.
Here are the best reactions to Mount’s display:

Lampard has said that Mount won’t start every game for Chelsea this season but that he would make a big impact for the team. On yesterday’s evidence he might be starting a lot of games. He was the best player on the pitch and, as one fan pointed out, he looked like he’d been playing in the Premier League for years.
@ChelseaFC
1.)Kepa has been shaky sometimes but was good.
2.)Zouma was good defensively but loose sometimes on the ball.
3.)Kante was beast.
4.)We need a good striker.
5.)Mount was awesome.
6.)Team played well but Fatigue brought us down.— . (@NonCommonIndian) August 18, 2019
The awesome thing is that Mount may get better with experience #CFC

Positives are chelsea did look good going forward, maybe some work on finishing needed, but mount has been really impressive, excited to see how he gets on during the rest of the season #KTBFFH #CFC

Mason Mount is honestly incredible for his age. Genuinely think CFC have a potential trio of attacking superstars in him, CHO, and Pulisic.

Many other Chelsea fans were impressed with what they saw from Mount, but there were some supporters that would have been happier if he’d been subbed midway through the second half.
Chelsea looked vulnerable after Jorginho went off and two fans said that they would have taken off Mount for Kovacic instead and switched to a 4-3-3.
That doesn’t detract from a wonderful performance from the 20-year-old but it does throw up some questions about Lampard’s tactical acumen.
I would have brought in Kovavic for Mount and moved to a 433, around the 55min, it was clear they were bossing us in midfield after the break
Tammy later on in the game for Giroud because his legs were gone
Slow the game down, we were attacking too much

With and a transfer window under his belt. And yes, Frank got the formation wrong and subbing Jorginho instead of Mount/Pedro for Kovacic was a mistake it should have been a 4-3-3 to prevent there being so much space for Leicester to exploit on a counter. But at least…..
