Chelsea are still looking for their first win under new manager Frank Lampard after a 1-1 draw with Leicester on Sunday.

One big positive from the 1-1 draw was the performance of 20-year-old Mason Mount, who spent last season on loan with Lampard’s Derby County.

The goal was smart, a low finish after Wilfred Ndidi lost the ball, and the youngster tucked it away low into the net after just seven minutes.

However, Chelsea couldn’t kick on from there and Ndidi made amends for his blunder in the second half, equalising with a header after 67 minutes.

Lampard kept faith with Mount and puzzled some people when he took off Jorginho for Mateo Kovacic after 71 minutes.

After that, it was Leicester who looked like they were going to win and James Maddison should have clinched it late on but blazed the ball over the bar.

Here are the best reactions to Mount’s display:

Lampard has said that Mount won’t start every game for Chelsea this season but that he would make a big impact for the team. On yesterday’s evidence he might be starting a lot of games. He was the best player on the pitch and, as one fan pointed out, he looked like he’d been playing in the Premier League for years.

Many other Chelsea fans were impressed with what they saw from Mount, but there were some supporters that would have been happier if he’d been subbed midway through the second half.

Chelsea looked vulnerable after Jorginho went off and two fans said that they would have taken off Mount for Kovacic instead and switched to a 4-3-3.

That doesn’t detract from a wonderful performance from the 20-year-old but it does throw up some questions about Lampard’s tactical acumen.
